Keystone’s Supported Apartment Services program emphasizes the development of independent living skills and natural community supports for individuals with a psychiatric disability living independently in their own apartment in the community. Staff is available 7 days a week, 8:30am-10pm, to provide residential support which includes: assisting with daily living skills, shopping, cooking, cleaning, money management, negotiating with landlords and the many other skills necessary to maintain an independent living environment. Case management support includes acting as a liaison with clinicians and medical providers, transportation, medication and symptom management and arranging entitlements. The program additionally provides supports for a subset of in dividuals who have both a psychiatric and substance abuse diagnoses. Staff trained in dual diagnosis service delivery provide residential support and case management services to program participants through an integrated approach which addresses both mental health and substance abuse needs. Evidenced based practices are utilized to ensure that individuals are not discharged from the program due to an increase in symptoms or relapse.
